Hope Everybody Had a Great Thanksgiving! Ours was relaxing and fun- lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of dogs and of course…lots of football.
The day after Thanksgiving, my hubby and I drove out to Eugene, Oregon to watch the Civil War Game at Autzen Stadium, Home of the U of O Ducks. Here are some pics 🙂
Have a Great Sunday!! xoxo
Went on a little shopping trip for my daughter to replenish our “clothes to grow in to” supply and I thought I’d post a few pics of the purchases because kid’s clothes are seriously so damn cute 🙂
I really cannot believe how fast my child is growing up!! Her 2nd birthday is next week and she has just started in on her 3t clothing. I try and stock up on clothing 2 to 3 sizes ahead and purchase in the off-season, because this is generally when I find the best deals– especially at the big box stores. All of the clothes and shoes featured are 2 to 3 sizes too big for her now, and upcoming spring is the perfect time to buy long sleeved shirts, sweaters, boots, coats and pants.
Hey there guys! Do you hear that? No? Neither do I!!! It’s the sweet, sweet sound of silence, YIPPEEE!!!
Things started getting crazy busy in my house just after thanksgiving- mostly prepping for a long stay/xmas holiday with my parents. December went by so fast I hardly remember what happened! January ended up being a relax and recuperate month while we spent a lot of down time together as a family and got our home and finances in order. Finally, we are all back to our old routines. Dish washer is going and baby girl is enjoying her breakfast while I type this- I love boring sometimes.
It feels really good to be back doing posts. I didn’t realize how much I loved it until I took a month off.
I was also really, really excited to see that in my absence, traffic was good and I have passed the 200 follower mark. That is so cool. I know it’s not a ton of folks, but even if it was just 10, it still makes me happy to see that others share my interests and appreciate my content.
My first posts up will be January Favs and an update on my DIY eyelash serum experiment- stay tuned 😉
Hope everyone had a great holiday and new year- I cannot wait to look through all the posts I missed!!
…a work in progress!
I love Christmas so much! It is by far my favorite holiday. Nothing makes me happier than spending a couple of days hanging around the house with my family cooking, talking and laughing, playing games, watching Christmas movies, opening presents and drinking too much. The time spent with family and friends around this time of year is always the most memorable for me.
I should also mention that I love everything ELSE Christmas brings with it as well- decorations being one of them. Here are a number of pieces up in our house right now that I’m currently working on, deciding what I should keep up, change or take down this season.
any questions, comments or suggestions? Also please link your xmas décor posts!! XOXO
Yesterday I was able to have lunch with my best friend in the world at an amazing Teriyaki place in Vancouver, WA… She had some extra time after lunch so I decided to finally do some shopping for fall decorations. It’s a little late, but I was on the fence about fall decor for a while. What changed my mind was remembering how much fun my sister and I had when we were younger, decorating the house for Easter, autumn, summer and Christmas. She would had us huge boxes filled with knickknacks, candles, baskets, fabrics, fake flowers and other goodies and my sis and I would go nuts. When my daughter is older, I would like to give her a chance to do the same thing.
Here are a few pics of the decorations :
I thought this “Autumn” sign was cute, but needed something, so I hacked off a few leaves and berries from other decorations, then wove them through the letters or put them behind. I love the owl, but my husband finds it scary. 🙂
I have a B.A. in English and my husband has a B.A. in Geography…that being said, it’s not shocking that we have a TON of books between the two of us. I love family photos, and these are up all year round. Instead of taking them all down like I do at Christmas, I decided to short of decorate around them with candles, pumpkins and other fall junk.
This is my favorite decoration, I think. I love the tiny bit of bling the sparkly leaves add to it. I was tempted to hang it above the T.V. instead, but it was just too small in that space.
I wanted a contained display and thought about filling a large mason jar, but I love the shape of jar- next year though, I think I’m going to hunt for a vintage hurricane lantern instead.
God, I hate our DVD racks. I LOATHE them. My husband won’t let me get rid of them though, so I have to work with it…we have 2, one on each side of our television. I decorated them identically.
There you go!
Happy Fall or Autumn or Whatever!
