During the colder months, I find that many foundations dry out my skin so I tend to use tinted moisturizers or powder foundations layered over heavy duty moisturizers a s a base. This, of course, doesn’t work for all skin types, but for mine- which is on the dry side, not acne prone and a bit oilier in my t-zone- it works great, with a few blotting papers for my forehead and nose throughout the day.
Make Up For Ever isn’t really a brand I purchase often, but I like to switch things up, so I purchased this at Sephora early last year. The full size is .35 oz., and the cost was $36.00.

I was thoroughly impressed with this product! First of all, unlike most powder foundations, this truly felt like nothing but a powder on the skin- not greasy or heavy, even after a few hours of wear.

Second, the shade options are fantastic. I feel that many brands don’t offer enough variety and only slightly delve into skin tones, as is, they only have a few different warm and cool shades. I happen to have very fair skin with a serious pink undertone. I usually have to settle for a powder that is slightly too yellow for my liking. Shade #115 had a super neutral, even ever so slight bluish tinge to it that worked was absolutely perfect, totally undetectable on with very little work on my part. I hardly had to blend this stuff at all- pat, pat, pat, done. Love that.

To compare this to a few other brands, most recently I’ve used It! Cosmetics Celebration Foundation and Benefit’s Hello Flawless. I found this to be far superior to Hello Flawless and really on par with It! Cosmetics, although Make Up For Ever is different- it has a much lighter, more buildable coverage than both of these.

As much as I love exploring new stuff, I am going to be purchasing this again because I freakin’ loved it.
