I am a total sucker for sample bags when I order products online. I wait to order from nordstrom, sephora, beauty.com and ulta (along with a few other sites) until a mass of sample products in a makeup bag are available for free with a minimum purchase. I absolutely love getting a bag of goodies I never would have tried along with the stuff I was going to order anyway. Unsurprisingly, my sample collection went from a drawer, to a set of drawers to…a hallway closet. In December, I organized them by type and put them into plastic tubs, swearing I wasn’t going to use any full size products for the month of January to use some of them up.
I went through a lot of them- it was really fun. I was often surprised by the good quality of products that looked shoddy and poor quality of those that seemed like they should have been more effective. I decided to put together a February favorites with the very best samples I used last month.

Michael Todd True Organics Wild Rose Petal Creamy Body Wash : I can’t say much for the skin firming effects of this body wash, but it was very creamy, foamed up wonderfully and rinsed clean. My skin felt very soft post-shower and the scent is nice- not a perfume-y rose at all but a much more natural rose scent with some herbal notes thrown in there. ($14.00, 10.1 oz.)

Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate : I found this eye cream to the best of the 7 or 8 samples I used up during the month. It was lightweight, thin and absorbed quickly while being super hydrating. It kind of plumped up the skin around my eye area and smoothed out fine lines. ($83.00, .53 oz.)

Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Ceramide Super Cream : While I don’t agree with the “72 hours of hydration” the cream promises, I did absolutely love this stuff as a night cream. It’s very thick and absorbs slowly, which is exactly what I want, especially during the cold winter months. My skin felt very nourished and moisturized and I loved the unique scent- kind of a spicy, gingery musk- nothing medicinal or artificial to it at all, which is rare for a cream like this one. ($36.00, 60 ml.)

Davines Oi Absolute Beautifying Shampoo & Conditioner : I loved these samples so much that I cannot wait to run out of my Nexxus so I have an excuse to buy this pair. Cons : it is pricey, undersized and has totally annoying packaging. On my very thick and long hair though, this shampoo and conditioner were AMAZING. I don’t remember the last time I was actually able to use a quarter sized amount of conditioner and have it be enough to do the job!! Ultra hydrating, helped tame my frizzies and weighed my hair down so it was all over the place- perfection. buyer beware- I wouldn’t recommend this for ppl with fine or thin hair, or those who love the squeaky clean, lighter than air type of product. ($26.00 & $32.00, 9.46 & 8.45 oz.)

Maison Martin Margiela Replica in “Beach Walk” Eau De Toilette : Damn, I love doing fragrance reviews. This sh*t smells awesome. It stood out among the others I used. The scent is earthier, yet has a warm fruity/exotic pitch at the same time. I pick up a salty, sandalwood musk and a coconut vanilla scent all at once- it’s just gorgeous, and lasted a decent amount of time for an eau de toilette. ($125.00, 3.4 oz.)

Have you guys tried any of these?
