Dare I say it….Blogmas Day 2?
It was really difficult for me to choose products for last month because I did a pretty good job of spreading the love around. My makeup collection finally outgrew my clear 6 drawer acrylic unit, so it moved into one of my IKEA Alex 9 drawer units. Now that everything is spread out there and there’s plenty of space, I feel like it’s been easier to reach for a variety than the same old stuff.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres in “232 Tisse Venitien” : I bought this quad a few months back at a Chanel counter in Macy’s and I am really, really loving it. I am not impressed with the staying power of Chanel’s shadow on an unprimed lid, but I love everything else about this quad.
The colors are fantastic- two blending shades, a dark shade for shadowing and a light one for highlighting. The grey/green semi sparkle is my favorite of the four. It has a lovely smokey undertone, but it’s fun and flashy at the same time. WITH PRIMER, this quad is outstanding.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion : Speaking of primer, this is the one that has come out on top for me lately. Very recently, I’ve worked with this primer in comparison to The Balm’s Put A Lid On It, Lorac’s Behind the Scenes, Too Faced Lemon Drop and MUA’s Pro Base primer. I am planning on doing an eye primer show down with all 5 of these once I’ve had a chance to road test them all a few more times. As of right now though, this one is my fav.
Benefit Rockateur Blush : This blush is just so damn pretty and easy to use.
I love the peachy highlighted look it gives and it’s actually quite easy to work with, heavy hand or light. The packaging kicks ass and I love the hyacinth and rose scent it has.
Guerlain terracotta loose powder kohl liner in “03 Blue” : This packaging sucked me in initially and it took me a while to really fall in love with this powder. The skinny little wand only picks up the smallest amount of this super fine powder, and the opening in the container is so small that it’s a lot less difficult to work with than you’d think. The finish is a gorgeous smokey teal blue, perfect for dramatic bottom lash lining or dabbing along the outer corners of your upper lash line.
Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub : Ack, my lips have been awful lately. The switching back and forth between super cold, dry weather and warmer, rainy conditions has got my skin all screwed up. Slathering this on every morning, after a night of wearing some heavy duty medicated lip balm has helped a ton! The exfoliating grit in this lip scrub does a fantastic job of removing all my crusties….sorry, that’s gross.
So that’s all folks!!
