Hi guys! It’s time for August favorites…dang, this month flew by. I haven’t been wearing a lot of makeup this month- especially eyes- because it’s been very, VERY hot in Portland! 90+ temps for a record number of days! That being said, I’ve chosen these five products that are pretty basic, but have turned out to be life savers. Most of them have helped me keep my make up on throughout the day, with minimal touch ups.

. Judith August Cosmetic Solutions Killer Cover Total Blackout Makeup- This concealer is…bad*ss. Really. This is not an “ooh, I got a little blemish” kind of stuff. It has tattoo/scar/major blemish covering capabilities and comes in a 5 shade wheel, so you can mix colors to get your perfectly matched shade. I’ve used it this month to cover some breakouts and discolorations even with the heat, it hasn’t budged. ( $36.00 )

. Figs and Rouge 100% pure 100% natural Multi-Tasking Lip Balm bomb in “Cherry Blossom/ Soft Cherry” – Love this stuff. Sometimes in crazy heat, lipstick is just too lipstick-y and glosses feel thick and gooey. This lip balm is perfect. It adds just enough color to look gorgeous without looking super “done”. ( $9.00 )

. L’Oreal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur – Here’s the skinny on this slightly tacky, gel-like substance: it’s a dense, mattifying primer that’s broad-spectrum SPF 30 and can be worn with or without makeup. The price is great, and it’s honestly one of the best skin preps I’ve ever used. ( $20.00 )

. NYX butter Gloss Lip Gloss in “BLG07 Tiramisu” – I’ll admit that I am late on trying these. The delay is due to the fact that I NYX eyeshadows work terribly for me and that kind of gave me a bad taste in my mouth regarding the brand. These butter glosses are AWESOME. My sister turned me on to this shade and it’s a perfect “your lips but better” type deal. Again, the price is unbeatable for the quality. ( $4.99 )

. Makeup Academy Pro-Base Eye Primer – Speaking of great prices, I have always been a huge fan of the Australian Drug Store brand Makeup Academy or MUA. I have a number of face and lip products by this company and I love them. I’m a big fan of the cool beige tone of this primer and the easy to use sponge wand. ( approx. $2.50 )
