After a super crazy celebratory December that got all falsies and glitter, I kept it pretty simple this month.
I’m going to rave about this sh*t for a bit…

1 . Illamasqua Nail Varnish in “Viridian”: I got this last year sometime in a duo pack with “Glitterati” @ Sephora for around $20. I have never tried an Illamasqua polish with a shiny finish, and I figured there was no better time to try it than 2 bottles for pretty much the price of 1 ($17, I believe). Anyway- I cannot believe how great this polish is! Used with a top coat and base coat, it went a full week looking like new. I’ve noticed that the matte finish Illamasqua’s don’t last anywhere near that long, so I will be steering clear of those from now on. The color itself if like a frosty forest green with a tiny bit of teal shimmer going on. gorgeous.

2 . NARS blush in “Dolce Vita”: Hey look! It’s someone talking about a shade other than “Orgasm”! WOW! NARS makes great blushes, everybody knows that, but this particular shade is ridiculously underappreciated. It looks dark in the pan, which may scare some buyers off, but it is a beautiful dusty rose color with a matte finish. Very buildable and long lasting. Just awesome on my pale skin. ($30)

3 . Sedona Lace Synthetic flat top brush 928 in “Midnight Lace”: Hot damn, I can’t believe this most excellent foundation brush was $14.95. I got it in September and have been using it more and more. It’s soft enough to use around the eye area, big and puffy enough for all over the place and buffs base makeup in wonderfully. If you are considering buying a high-end line of synthetic brushes like Sigma, take a look at this brand as well. They’re just as good, IMO.

4 . Victoria’s Secret Rapture Sensual Fragrance Mist: V.S.’s Rapture line is slowing disappearing as they gear their merchandise towards a younger audience and more and more customers go for fruity/flowery rather than musky/spicy. I pray to God every night and ask her to not allow the company to take it off the market. I have been wearing it off and on since I was 15, and I fall back in love with it almost every winter. It’s sex in a bottle. ($29)

5 . Bath and Body Works Body Wash in “Malibu Heat”: I’ve been liking this in the shower lately, mostly because its a light, summery pineapple/coconut/orange scent that counteracts all these dark and rainy days. B&BW products are better than average quality and lower priced than a lot of stuff out there. It doesn’t look like they will be carrying this scent anymore, so hit up Amazon.com or ebay.com to find some. ($10-$15)
